- Center for theoretical and historical Linguistics: Italian, European and
Oriental languages

languages. These studies may have as their object different languages and linguistic
groups, wide-ranging grammatical and lexical phenomena considered both diachronically and
synchronically, linguistic theories of present and past. Attention
is also devoted to the applications of these researches, which have a potentially high relevance not only in the field of
education, but also for various productive sectors, including
publishing, communication and the industry of language teaching.
Concerning
education, the Center's activity ia at the level of Doctorate, post-Doctorate and other tipologies of advanced
studies. Such activity is strongly related to the Doctoral
School in Linguistics of the University of Florence. The structure also organizes and cures higher
education courses and several national and international projects
involving young researchers through research fellowships.
